I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be teaching a workshop all next weekend (May 18th and 19th) as part of the Swap-O-Rama-Rama at Maker Faire Bay Area.
What is the Swap-O-Rama-Rama, you ask? “The Swap-O-Rama-Rama is the world’s largest clothing swap! Join in the communal process of reuse and celebrate our collective creativity. Swap-O-Rama-Rama is a giant clothing swap and series of do-it-yourself workshops in which a community explores reuse and creativity through the recycling of used clothing. At SORR, consumers are taught to be creators.”
I’ll be running demos of how to take old pairs of pants and turn them into skirts. I’ll also be selling the last of the pants-from-skirts inventory I used to have in my old Etsy store in the SORR boutique.
If you’re in the Bay Area, you should seriously consider checking out Maker Faire. It’s overwhelmingly inspiring with DIY projects of every conceivable (and inconceivable) type! And if you do attend, stop by the SORR and say hi!
Call for help!: If you live in the Bay Area and are interested in going to Maker Faire and you know how to work a sewing machine, considering being my assistant! I have free tickets to give a few people that are willing to volunteer as my assistant. The time commitment is minimal, I promise it’ll be fun, and it will allow me to have bathroom breaks!
